This year we have been thinking and will think more about Kaipupu Point and how to save New Zealand birds. In art  we have done Egyptian  Pyramids and our Self Portraits. We had to think about perspective and proportion. In writing we have been thinking about description. We had to try to "show not tell" and describe things well so people can agree with and understand what you are talking about. We also had to deliberately choose the best words to get people in the picture. In maths we were thinking about getting fast at our Basic Facts and knowing them all and knowing them well. In topic we have been learning about Maori art. We had been to Blenheim's Millennium Gallery where there were illustrations from Maori stories. In our topic books we had to draw a picture that was inspired by something at the gallery. On the day after and before A.N.Z.A.C Day we read a few poems and stories about it and then in our topic books we did a title page about A.N.Z.A.C and then glued in the poems. Fortunately the teacher said "don't draw pictures of bombs exploding and people dying." Netball practices have just started and our first game is this Saturday.
